From Service to Student - Financial Aid and Veterans

This webinar will give a brief overview of the challenges faced by service members transitioning from the military to higher education and provide some tips to better serve those students. All chapters of VA Education benefits will be discusses, but it will be focused on recent changes implemented with the Forever GI Bill and a new law that impacts all student veterans and their institutions.
Presenter: Max Spahn served in the United States Marine Corps from 2008-2012. He deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2010. Following his enlistment, Max attended Northeastern University where he studied psychology and served as the President of the Student Veterans Organization. He graduated in 2016 and began work at Northeastern University’s Dolce Center for the Advancement of Veterans and Service members, first as a Veteran Services Specialist and now as the Associate Director. He is also the Staff Advisor to the Student Veterans Organization and a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Veterans' Program Administrators (NAVPA).
